Located in Mankato, Minnesota, this stand-alone, behind-the-meter BESS project is designed to support a black start application for two gas turbines, providing energy storage capacity to support reliable facility operations. 

TruGrid is delivering a comprehensive behind the meter Balance of Plant scope, managing the project from engineering and procurement through construction, system integration, commissioning support, and electrical tie-in at the existing switchgear, which serves as the project’s Point of Interconnection (POI). This integrated approach helps streamline execution, minimize scope gaps, and support reliable operation of the BESS and existing generation assets.
