5 achievements of 2025 that defined a strong year for TruGrid

2025 was a year of many successes at TruGrid, and we’re taking a moment to look back on a year defined by teamwork, problem-solving, and steady executionThroughout the year, the energy landscape continued to shift, but our focus stayed the same: keep our people safe, deliver quality projects, and support our customers from start to finish. And now, we’re taking time to celebrate five accomplishments that stood out in 2025 and helped define a strong year for TruGrid

1. One Full Year with Zero TRIR

This year, TruGrid achieved a full twelve months with a zero Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR).

“A zero TRIR doesn’t happen by chance. It’s a reflection of intentional planning, awareness, and culture that gives every team member the confidence to speak up for safety,” said Justin Whittenburg, TruGrid Senior Director of Health, Safety & Environment (HSE).

This milestone reflects consistent planning, strong field leadership, and a culture where accountability is shared. It’s the result of daily decisions that were made on jobsites and is a reminder that safe work starts with thoughtful, well-structured planning.

2. Five Projects Completed On Time and On Budget

TruGrid completed five projects, and each was delivered on time and on budget. Together, these projects added vital battery storage capacity to the grid, supporting reliability during periods of high demand.

“Execution works best when engineering, construction, and procurement move as one team. These projects showed what that alignment can deliver,” noted Josh Richardson, TruGrid Chief Operating Officer.

What made these projects successful wasn’t just meeting deadlines. It was the coordinated, standardized approach behind the work, including:

  • Early alignment across teams
  • Strong supplier partnerships
  • Ongoing coordination with customer teams
  • Rigorous commissioning and quality assurance
  • Construction planning

3. Speaking Engagements, Publications, and Industry Presence

One thing about TruGrid is that you can count us in when it comes to important conversations. Our team shared lessons learned, insights, and safety perspectives across some of the industry’s most respected conferences and publications.  From panel discussions to technical articles and podcast conversations, our team played an active role in advancing dialogue around battery energy storage systems (BESS), solar energy, safety, and project execution.

Speaking Engagements

Speaking engagements throughout the year allowed TruGrid leaders to share on-the-ground experience, highlight best practices, and contribute to meaningful conversations across the energy industry.

Senior Director of Business Development, Orlando Lam at CLEANPOWER

Orlando highlighted how rapid deployment of BESS and solar, as well as the right EPC partner, can help bridge the energy gap and deliver real results.

Chief Executive Officer, Jody Snodgrass at Energy Storage Summit USA

Jody shared perspectives on accelerating commissioning while reducing costs. His session explored strategies that leverage expert planning and proven methodologies to help asset owners optimize project timelines.

Senior Director of HSE, Justin Whittenburg at the ACP O&M + Safety Conference

Justin presented on the topic Breaking the Communication Code, focusing on adapting to constant changes in communication and the positive impact that clear, consistent messaging can have on project safety.

Director of Marketing, Amy Norstedt at the Women of Renewable Industries and Sustainable Energy Leadership Forum

Amy shared insights on communicating sustainability, tailoring messages for key stakeholders, and engaging communities when projects go through all phases of a project.

Chris FinleyTruGrid Chief Commercial Officer, adds, “What differentiates strong projects is transparency throughout the process. When experience is shared, it strengthens outcomes across the industry.”

Publications

TruGrid also contributed to industry publications focused on practical guidance and lessons from the field:

Podcasts & Media

TruGrid shared real-world perspectives through podcast and media appearances:

  • Chief Executive Officer Jody Snodgrass was featured on the Green Giant & Better Than We Found It Podcast.
  • Chief Commercial Officer Chris Finley appeared on PowerUp Live programming at RE+.
  • Director of Marketing Amy Norstedt hosted segments on PowerUp Live at RE+.

These conversations provided space to speak openly about challenges, progress, and what it takes to deliver successful energy projects in today’s market.

Event Participation

TruGrid participated in several major industry events throughout the year, including the ACP Siting and Permitting Conference, Intersolar & Energy Storage North America, Texas, CLEANPOWER on the Hill, RE+, CLEANPOWER, Energy Storage Summit USA, and the Canadian Renewable Energy Association’s Electricity Transformation Canada conference.

Being present at industry events is an important way for TruGrid to stay connected to the conversations that shape our market and to share perspectives that grounded in real project experience.” says Amy Norstedt, TruGrid Director of Marketing.

4. Strong Customer Feedback and Strengthened Partnerships

2025 brought some of the strongest and most positive customer feedback we’ve received to date. Across both active and completed projects, customers consistently highlighted:

  • Clear communication
  • Proactive issue resolution
  • Transparency during schedule changes
  • Quick responses from procurement and engineering

These insights reinforce the TruGrid approach; alignment, planning, and honest communication remain central to every customer partnership.

Don’t just take our word for it. Here’s what one of our clients had to say:

“I found it very rewarding working with TruGrid. The team was professional across the board. Shout out to the engineering crew and the construction team. The conditions were hot and humid, but they stayed focused and delivered ahead of schedule, which is incredibly impressive.”

When values are aligned, the relationship goes beyond delivering a project. It becomes a partnership built on trust, accountability, and shared goals. At TruGrid, those principles guide how we show up on every project, every day.

5. Helping Customers Navigate July 2025 OB3 Executive Orders

The One Big Beautiful Bill Act, also known as OB3, as well as subsequent executive orders, introduced new considerations for energy developers and owners regarding tax treatment, foreign trade, compliance, and project planning timelines. TruGrid’s teams quickly mobilized to interpret impacts across engineering, procurement, supply chain, and construction.

In a short window, we:

  • Outlined implications for our customers’ 2025–2028 project pipelines.
  • Adjusted procurement strategies to reduce impacts.
  • Aligned engineering and contracting to reflect new requirements.
  • Helped customers reassess schedules and cost structures.
  • Supported real-time decision-making for active projects.

“These efforts captured the essence of how TruGrid supports its partners, not just in execution, but in navigating fast-moving industry change.” says Jody Snodgrass, TruGrid Chief Executive Officer.

Building on 2025 Momentum

The achievements of 2025 reflect a year built on collaboration, commitment, and steady performance across every phase of engineering, procurement, construction, and operations and maintenance work.

As we look ahead to 2026, our focus remains the same: keep people safe, deliver bankable projects with predictability, strengthen customer partnerships, and continue to grow our technical leadership in battery energy storage systems and solar. We’ll stay engaged in industry conversations along the way, sharing practical, experienced insights that help move the market forward. And yes, we’ll manage to have some fun along the way, too!

Our team’s dedication made 2025 a defining year and set a strong foundation for what’s ahead.
